Hélène Manganas

Hélène Manganas is the principal investigator of CARE-PF for the CHUM site in Montréal. She has been involved in the project for many years, recruiting actively a large number of patients.

She is a member of the Steering Committee. With the precious help of her team, she has contributed to better characterize the different ILD populations in Canada, answering very pivotal clinical questions leading to improvement in patients care. She is also the director of the Interstitial Lung Disease clinic at the CHUM in Montréal. She is specialised in various fibrosing lung diseases including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, diseases associated with connective tissue diseases, hypersensitivity pneumonitis and sarcoidosis. During the last years, she has dedicated most of her time to improve quality of care and outcome of patients using a multidisciplinary approach involving rheumatologists, radiologists, pathologists, thoracic surgeons, clinical nurses and physiotherapists. She is a member of the CHUM research center (CRCHUM) taking part on various clinical projects. She has also participated in many pharmaceutical trials over the years hopping to find new treatments for ILD patients.
