Bruce Lonergan

Bruce Lonergan
Bruce was born in Toronto, but currently resides in Ottawa, Ontario. He is married to Brenda and recently celebrated a 40th anniversary, enjoying the sights, sounds and tastes of Italy for a month in celebration. He has two grown children, Ryan and Olivia.
Bruce enjoys traveling, skiing, running, biking, martial arts and other forms of exercise, although doesn’t perform as much and at the level he used to. He plays bass guitar for a garage band of friends that he says is best left in the garage, but with retirement looming, he hopes to spend more time practicing and getting back to writing children’s books and creating art. He says that his life centres around three “F” words… faith, family and friends!
Professionally, after graduating university, Bruce worked in retail, hi-tech, low tech twice ran his own companies and finally spent the past 17 years working for the Canadian Federal Government. Bruce was diagnosed with IPF over six years ago and is seeking ways to assist those in need by volunteering with pulmonary fibrosis organizations including the Registry. He is hopeful that a cure is around the corner and is excited to work with fellow patients and those doctors and researchers at the Registry seeking answers to the mysteries of pulmonary fibrosis. Bruce lives with IPF, but certainly doesn’t let the disease define him!
