Bev Merrifield

Bev Merrifield, a retired registered nurse from British Columbia, dedicated over 40 years to a career in healthcare. In retirement, she enjoys traveling, spending quality time with family, and nurturing friendships. As a proud mother of three and a loving Nana, Bev treasures the joy of watching her children raise families of their own.

Bev’s journey with pulmonary fibrosis is deeply personal. Inspired by the exceptional care her husband received during his battle with the disease and his subsequent double lung transplant, she joined the registry to honor his memory. Her husband passed away in 2017, and Bev hopes to inspire and support others who may be navigating a similar path.

Through her involvement with the registry, Bev’s goal is to amplify the voices of patients and families in shaping care decisions, setting research priorities, and fostering collaboration. Her empathy and commitment make her a compassionate advocate for the pulmonary fibrosis community.
